These pictures are from a trip we took when the boys were little.
This is of the Lady Bea which was in Port Isabel. The Lady Bea is no longer there.
I'll be adding more pictures as I get the scanned.
We stayed at LaPlaya in a very nice
condo that had a balcony over looking the
beach. I very much enjoyed the stay there. This is the outside view
of our room. I'll add more
pictures of the inside later. They
also
had
a very nice swimming pool we made use of.
We went deep sea fishing on the
Osprey. We all got sea sick along with pretty much most
of the people with us. The seas were pretty rough that day.
Here are my best friend Nancy, my mom and a friend Teleta who went with
us. This is a picture I took of a shrimp boat coming home as we were
going out. I was doing great and then they stopped the boat. Big
mistake.
We also spent time along the jetty
watching the boats go in and out and the people out either
fishing or dolphin watching. We also saw several from the
jetty although the pictures didn't show them
well.
Of course we also spent time on the beach. We got up every morning early and walked along the beach before breakfast. We fed the gulls frequently. We also got a boogie board and played in the ocean.
We also did a lot of feeding of the gulls who came right up to the balcony. This was fun.
Being women on vacation we had to go
shopping. We came home with quite a few
things. One of my favorite shops there is The
Texas Cat House. Here is a picture of their resident cat
Henderson. As always I find the unique shops dedicated to one of my
favorite animals, the cat.
We
also ate at a great many fantastic eateries. Both on the island and on the
mainland. One place Ray's Bar-B-Q is in San
Benito where I was born. It is family owned and operated. It was
there when I was a child living there. We eat there every time we go down
that direction. There are lots of things to see such at the Wyland walls
of the convention center where there is also a large sand castle built by Sand
Castle Central and Sea Turtle Inc.
